About Us
Rick and Margo met 16 years ago, late night at a bar in Brooklyn...
We had a lot of the same friends, but had never met before. We went on our first “real” date to The Met, where we had a blast and found that we had much in common. We moved to London in 2007, were married in Brooklyn in 2008, and spent the next few years living in London and traveling.
Niko was born in London, and we moved back to the States, living in Santa Fe, where our son Sebastian was born, then to NY, and finally settling in Connecticut. Our home is a historic Georgian / Victorian house called Hillcrest, built in 1828. We’ve spent the last 8 years fixing up the house, doing much of the work ourselves, and turning the yard into extensive gardens. Rick is a painter and photographer from Santa Fe. He has many years of experience as a professional screenprinter and photo editor. He has exhibited in Santa Fe, London, NY and Connecticut. You can purchase his prints and originals at our Shop, and contact him to discuss commissions. Margo is a native New Yorker who has spent her professional life in publishing. She started out as a music journalist in Boston and NY, founding ‘zines RUDE International and Pin-Up NYC. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Writing, Literature & Publishing from Emerson College and has worked in publishing for over 20 years – specializing in web development, marketing and product management for some of the top publishing companies, including McGraw-Hill, Pearson, and IDG/Foundry. Margo was also a DJ and nightlife promoter in NYC, running the Motor Inn parties in the East Village and LES.
Margo draws most of her inspiration in her art from nature, creating botanical drawings in colored pencil and paintings in oil and acrylic. She also works in graphite and pen & ink, and enjoys doing custom illustrations, portraiture and more. Please feel free to contact us to discuss commissions! Niko has been painting since she was old enough to hold a paintbrush.
She lives in Connecticut with her Mom, Dad and brother. Niko is homeschooled and attends a global online school called Kubrio. She paints and draws fantasy and landscape art. She loves magical creatures, music, all things gothic and punk, reading and is learning how to sew. She also enjoys studying quantum physics, philosophy, and anthropology. Niko sold her first piece of art at the 17q12 Foundation charity auction and is looking forward to creating more art and building up her portfolio.
